The state will update educational standards, taking into account the capabilities of children with special needs

Draft Law No. 15207 has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada, proposing the modernization of state educational standards for children with special educational needs (SEN). The initiative aims to introduce individualized target learning outcomes that take into account students' intellectual, physical, and sensory capabilities instead of the current generalized requirements.

According to Serhiy Babak, Chairman of the relevant committee, these changes will facilitate the integration of children with SEN into a unified educational system and provide them with an appropriate developmental trajectory for future professional fulfillment. The new approaches will ensure the right to education through flexible adaptation of curriculum content and the setting of achievable goals that correspond to each child's individual potential.
