According to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Employment Service, applications are now open in Ukraine for 'She Drives,' a tuition-free training program. The project focuses on professionally training women as bus, truck, and trolleybus drivers, with mandatory subsequent job placement at transport and logistics companies. The initiative aims to expand women's economic opportunities, address labor shortages in the sector, and secure stable employment with proper working conditions.
The program offers training across driver categories 'D' (passenger buses), 'C' and 'CE' (heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes, including with trailers), and 'T' (trolleybuses). The curriculum includes theoretical and practical instruction at partner driving schools, state examinations, psychological support, professional skills development, and interview preparation assistance. Priority will be given to motivated applicants with a full secondary education and driving experience who reside in target project regions, including Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, and other regional centers.
Applications can be submitted until August 31, 2026, via the project's official website. The 'She Drives' initiative is implemented under the UN Women Ukraine Strategic Note (2025–2029) in partnership with the Ministry for Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport of Ukraine and the NGO 'Institutional Development Foundation,' with financial support from the governments of Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Poland, and Sweden.
