In the summer of 2025, the Olena Mykolaivna Borshch Charitable Foundation will launch a new scholarship competition, offering monthly grants of 8,000 UAH to students pursuing technical degrees.
The program aims to support young people studying disciplines such as engineering, manufacturing, and construction—students who demonstrate strong academic performance but face significant life challenges due to the ongoing war, including loss of housing, lack of family support, or other hardships.
Eligible applicants include full-time bachelor’s students in their first to fourth year at universities located in Ukrainian government-controlled territories. The selection process will consider academic performance during the summer semester, as well as the applicant’s motivation, volunteer experience, and commitment to rebuilding their communities. The organizers emphasize that their goal is not only to assist those in need but to empower individuals ready to use their knowledge for the benefit of Ukraine.
Applications can be submitted online between July 15 and August 1, 2025, via the foundation’s official website. Students will also be required to upload an official academic transcript, obtainable from their university dean’s office.
The scholarship program has been active since 2022 and has already supported dozens of students—39 scholarships were awarded following the winter semester competition of the 2024/2025 academic year. Looking ahead, the foundation plans to expand its support by launching a mentorship platform, partnering with IT companies, providing additional funding for academic projects, and building stronger ties with technical universities. The overarching goal is to offer not only financial aid but also a solid foundation for professional growth and meaningful contributions to Ukraine’s recovery.
