A new state initiative has been launched in Ukraine aimed at supporting veterans returning to civilian life after participating in combat actions. The Ministry of Community and Territory Development, in cooperation with international partners including the IREX Veterans Reintegration Program, is starting enrollment for free professional training courses in transportation and logistics.
The program targets participants of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict who seek to master new skills, obtain competitive professions, and secure stable employment in peacetime. Participants will receive training as truck drivers, forklift operators, and logistics specialists involved in organizing transportation and warehouse management processes.
Additionally, the program offers the opportunity to obtain an international driver qualification — the Code 95 certificate — facilitating employment not only in Ukraine but also in European Union countries.
Deputy Minister of Community and Territory Development, Serhiy Derkach, emphasized that upon completing the training course, participants will receive real job offers from leading Ukrainian companies. He stated that such support is part of the state's systematic policy regarding the reintegration, professional adaptation, and social protection of veterans.
The project is an extension of last year's She Drives initiative, which focused on training women bus and truck drivers. Derkach noted that similar programs have been effective and will continue to be implemented: "We want to give those who defended Ukraine not just thanks, but real opportunities — for a fresh start, dignified work, and the feeling that the state stands by them."
Applications can be submitted until July 31, 2025, through the project's official website: veteransdrive.com.ua. For more information, candidates can email veterans@fid4ua.com. After submitting an application, candidates will undergo an interview in the second stage of selection.
