In Ukraine, the introduction of supervisory boards is planned for all institutions of professional pre-higher and vocational-technical educationThe supervisory boards will include representatives from businesses and employers. The purpose of establishing such boards is to create transparent rules for cooperation between public educational institutions and business structures. Previously, interactions were based on informal agreements, whereas now a clear regulation of partnerships is planned.

The supervisory boards will have the authority to:
  • approve educational programs;
  • participate in the development of the institution’s strategic and financial plans;
  • organize and oversee competitive selection processes for management positions.

This mechanism will allow employers to take a direct role in shaping educational programs, ensuring that training aligns with the current needs of the labor market.

Currently, there is a significant gap between employers’ demands and the actual curricula of colleges and vocational schools. Supervisory boards will help align the training of specialists with the requirements of enterprises.

Members of the supervisory boards carry out their duties on a voluntary basis, without payment and without obtaining the status of public servants. Their task is to improve the efficiency of institutions and ensure high-quality training of specialists.
