Ukraine is officially introducing a 'winter admission' system for university preparatory departments

Starting in January, Ukraine is introducing a standardized "winter admission" system, which establishes preparatory departments (foundation courses) within higher education institutions.

This initiative aims to provide systematic preparation for the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT), specifically targeting applicants from temporarily occupied territories, veterans, active-duty military personnel, and youth currently residing abroad. While tuition is generally fee-based according to university rates, the state will provide a monthly compensation of 3,000 UAH for designated priority categories.

Successfully completing the preparatory program grants applicants 15 additional points toward their competitive score when applying to the same institution.

It is important to note that the foundation course does not exempt students from the mandatory NMT; rather, it serves as a tool to enhance the applicant's qualifications.
