A recent public opinion poll has revealed a mixed societal attitude toward the possibility of acquiring quality education amidst full-scale hostilities. Nearly a thousand participants joined the discussion on this pressing issue, demonstrating a significant split in opinions against the backdrop of daily security challenges.
Specifically, nearly 39.6% of respondents believe in this prospect provided there is proper government support and safe conditions are created. At the same time, 37.6% of those surveyed are convinced that constant shelling, air raid alerts, and forced displacement make full-fledged learning impossible, while another 22.8% assume its effectiveness only in certain schools, for instance, in Western Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the state has already defined the specific features of organizing the educational process for the 2026–2027 academic year, which traditionally kicks off on September 1 and will run until the end of June. Regional administrations, together with school pedagogical councils, will individually determine specific learning formats, vacation lengths, and the exact end dates of the school year, taking into account the current security situation in each region.
