Free sign language courses for volunteers and social sector representatives are starting in KyivThe project is organized by the Kyiv City Center of Social Services

The initiative is aimed at developing an inclusive environment in the city so that every resident can feel part of the community.

“Sign language is not only a form of communication but also a distinct culture and tradition of people with hearing impairments. Our task is to make Kyiv an inclusive city where every person feels heard and supported. The courses will enable volunteers and social workers to better interact with people with hearing loss.”

The classes will take place at municipal libraries in Kyiv. After registration, participants will coordinate a convenient time and location with the organizers.

Registration for social workers is available via a special link, while volunteers can register through a separate form.

The courses are being implemented within the framework of the Action Plan for Creating a Barrier-Free Environment in Kyiv for 2025–2026. It covers six areas of accessibility: physical, informational, digital, educational, economic, and socio-civic.
