A delegation from Tartu, Estonia, has studied the experience of Kyiv educators in ensuring educational continuity under martial law. Valentyn Mondryivskyi, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), stated that the capital has adapted the learning environment for 264,000 students by implementing safety protocols and energy independence measures. Estonian specialists examined the operation of shelters, emergency response algorithms during air raids, and the specifics of teaching the "Defense of Ukraine" subject at Lyceum No. 315, Preschool Institution No. 741, and the Scandinavian Gymnasium.
The foreign partners noted the high resilience of municipal services and the professionalism of educators in supporting the community's vital functions. As part of the cooperation, Kyiv's educational institutions received office equipment from the Estonian side to enhance their material and technical resources. Particular attention was paid to crisis management and school operations during blackouts, providing a valuable case study for European colleagues.
Following the meetings, the parties identified priority areas for further collaboration: the development of digital educational solutions, strengthening the safety of the learning environment, and providing psychological support to all participants in the educational process. This exchange of experience between Kyiv and Tartu will contribute to the modernization of educational standards and the strengthening of inter-municipal ties in the face of global challenges.
