Ukraine digitalizes education through the integration of artificial intelligence

The Ministry of Education and Science, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, is implementing comprehensive regulatory and technological upgrades across the sector. Between 2024 and 2025, official guidelines were established for the use of AI in institutions ranging from primary schools to universities. Simultaneously, a large-scale digital literacy initiative has seen over 96,000 educators complete professional training supported by partners such as Google, Netpeak Group, and the ETF, while a national study assessed the digital competencies of 8,000 teachers nationwide.

Infrastructure development is being driven by integrating AI tools into the national "Mriya" system, which currently serves over 556,000 users and, as of 2026, features automated generation of educational materials. Through a partnership with Elai, higher education institutions have gained free access to AI-driven video lesson creation. Furthermore, the launch of the Edtech Centre of Excellence and student successes at the international Teens in AI techathon underscore the effectiveness of Ukraine's digitalization strategy. Currently, these innovative solutions are being scaled further, including the pilot implementation of the "Mriya" system within the preschool education segment.
