Professional Reintegration and Educational Recovery: MES Launches Specialized Course for Teachers in the Personnel Reserve

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Institute for Education Development (UIED), has initiated a specialized online course for educators currently in the personnel reserve. The project is specifically designed for teachers from front-line and temporarily occupied territories, aiming to preserve their professional potential and strategically prepare them for the restoration of Ukrainian educational standards in de-occupied regions.

The curriculum covers a range of critical areas, including the specifics of reintegrating the educational process, addressing learning loss, and implementing New Ukrainian School (NUS) standards in crisis conditions. Particular emphasis is placed on psychological resilience: educators will be trained in methodologies for working with childhood trauma, the fundamentals of information hygiene to counter propaganda, and strategies for preventing professional burnout.

Rather than offering universal templates, the course provides a systemic approach to working under conditions of uncertainty, combining a theoretical foundation with practical case studies. The project is the result of consolidated efforts between the public and non-governmental sectors, allowing the content to be adapted to the real social challenges teachers will face when re-establishing engagement with local communities.

This initiative marks the first stage of a comprehensive training program, which will subsequently include facilitated sessions and the mastery of mentoring tools. Participation is open to all educators in the personnel reserve, offering them the opportunity to become part of a professional community responsible for rebuilding the educational infrastructure in de-occupied territories.
