Following the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026), held on June 25–26 in Gdańsk, approximately $295 million has been secured to fund Ukrainian education and science. According to Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi, these funds will be directed toward infrastructure restoration, ensuring stable learning, supporting research activities, and assisting students.

The bulk of the funding consists of an additional $286 million tranche from the World Bank under the LEARN program, aimed at restoring children's access to quality education. Concurrently, in cooperation with the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), solutions will be implemented to ensure the energy independence of schools and uninterrupted in-person learning.

To provide social support for frontline communities, an agreement has been concluded with the UN World Food Programme worth nearly UAH 350 million. This guarantees free hot meals for primary school students (grades 1–4) across eight regions throughout the 2026/2027 academic year.

Scientific potential will be bolstered through a two-year UNESCO and Government of Flanders initiative valued at $600,000, which provides for researcher support and laboratory modernization. This long-term integration of the sector was also officially consolidated by the signing of the Gdańsk Declaration of the International Coalition for Supporting Science in Ukraine. Additionally, a VR tour of an underground school was presented to international partners at the Ukrainian Pavilion as a model of a safe educational space to attract further infrastructure investment.
