As part of the humanitarian initiative Music Saves Ukraine, organized by the All-Ukrainian Association of Music Events (UAME), a comprehensive update of the material and methodological base of art educational institutions has been initiated. Specifically, the first stage of the project to modernize music education in Ukraine has begun, involving the distribution of over 30,000 modern music textbooks to schools across the country.
The new educational materials take into account current student needs, adhere to modern methodological standards, and include interactive tasks and exercises to enhance musical ear and memory development, thereby improving the quality of the learning process.
Simultaneously, alongside the textbook updates, a support program for arts schools operating in frontline regions and rural areas has been launched. Ten selected institutions will receive funding up to 200,000 UAH each. The allocated funds can be used for:
-
purchase of musical instruments;
-
updating technical equipment (sound systems, lighting, etc.);
-
conducting repair works (window replacements, door repairs, insulation, etc.).
As noted by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Mykola Tochytskyi, “Today, we are investing not only in the development of art education, but also in shaping future ambassadors of Ukrainian culture. These children will represent Ukraine on world stages, in international projects, spreading our identity through music, art, and emotion.”
This initiative is being implemented with financial support from the Swiss foundation Culture & Education for Life, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education, and the State Scientific and Methodological Center for Cultural and Artistic Education Content.
