The non-governmental organization (NGO) "VZIRETS" (Sample), through its SAMPLE Center for Pre-Medical Aid, is offering free training courses on providing essential, pre-veterinary aid to domestic animals (dogs and cats) for residents of Mykolaiv.
This course is designed to equip you with the skills to understand the critical conditions of your pets and provide necessary assistance, especially when they cannot express their pain.
You will learn to recognize dangerous conditions, assess vital signs, ensure personal safety, and manage the restraint and transportation of animals. Crucially, you will gain practical skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and stopping critical bleeding (including tourniquet application), which is particularly relevant following military actions.
The curriculum also covers procedures for poisoning, trauma, hypothermia, seizures, allergic reactions, and airway obstruction, along with the composition of a first-aid kit.
The training is conducted by Kateryna Pisna, an experienced veterinarian and instructor at the center.
Spaces are limited. To participate, you must fill out the application form via the link HERE. The deadline for submission is November 21, 2025.
This initiative is implemented by the NGO "VZIRETS" with the support of the UNDP in Ukraine and the financial backing of the Government of Denmark.
