MES launches specialized course to prepare teachers for work in deoccupied territories

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Institute for Educational Development, is implementing a targeted program for educators from frontline and temporarily occupied regions. The project is designed specifically for teachers in the personnel reserve to strategically prepare them for the resumption of schooling in liberated educational institutions. The course aims to maintain teachers' professional capacity during periods of forced inactivity and provide a clear framework for their return to the classroom.

The curriculum focuses on three fundamental areas: educational reintegration, psychological resilience, and addressing learning loss. Participants will master methodologies for supporting traumatized children, tools to counter propaganda, and the specifics of implementing New Ukrainian School (NUS) standards in crisis conditions. By combining theoretical modules with practical case studies, the program enables teachers to adapt acquired knowledge to complex security and resource-constrained environments.

This online course serves as the launchpad for a comprehensive training system that will eventually include facilitated sessions and the development of mentoring skills. The initiative provides a platform for building a professional community capable of ensuring the qualitative transformation of education in deoccupied territories. Registration for teachers currently in the reserve is now open on the project's specialized web resource.
