The "Osvitoria" Non-Governmental Organization, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, has expanded its series of free training programs titled "NUSH in a Time of Change: 5th-6th Grades." Three new specialized courses are now available for middle school teachers, aimed at addressing current educational challenges and crisis situations. Developed under the "Education for Life" policy framework, the training is built upon practical experience in implementing the reform.
Participants can choose from three distinct tracks depending on their specialization. The Language and Literature program focuses on developing reading literacy and mitigating learning losses. The Civic and History track centers on cross-curricular integration and incorporating artificial intelligence into lessons. Meanwhile, the Social and Health-Enhancing domain offers practical tools for psycho-emotional support alongside inclusive education methodologies.
Beyond subject-specific knowledge, the course materials cover universal competencies, including the nuances of formative assessment, the adaptation of model curricula, and ensuring a smooth transition for students from primary to middle school. All programs are completely free of charge and hosted on the "O.University" online platform. Upon successful completion, educators will receive an official professional development certificate equivalent to 15 hours.
Background Information: This initiative has been implemented by NGO "Osvitoria" within the framework of the Multi-Year Resilience Programme (MYRP), funded by "Education Cannot Wait" (ECW) — a United Nations global fund that ensures educational continuity in emergency and crisis settings.
