The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MEO) is initiating the CampeX project ("Support for Campuses of Excellence") in cooperation with the World Bank (UIHERP project). The project's goal is to provide investments to state higher education institutions (HEIs) for creating integrated campuses with a powerful educational and research ecosystem.
The investments are intended to enhance the quality of education, develop modern infrastructure, and encourage students and researchers to remain in Ukraine. The Campuses of Excellence are viewed as synergistic interdisciplinary clusters that demonstrate high quality of education and innovation in priority areas.
HEIs under MEO's purview are invited to participate if they have a development strategy, ensure a safe environment, and implement accredited, quality-standard programs. The competition consists of several stages, culminating in the selection of ten CampeX projects with regional distribution taken into account.
Funding is directed towards long-term capacity building for HEIs, including repairs, energy modernization, equipment procurement, IT provision, and international certification. MEO will sign partnership agreements with the winners, detailing clear commitments regarding the achievement of key performance indicators.
