Starting from the new academic year, students in grades 4–11 will study the topic of energy efficiency as part of updated school curricula. The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is integrating relevant content into existing educational courses without increasing the academic workload. According to Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi, the aim is to update the relevance of current programs, particularly in the natural sciences and technology fields.
As part of the “Energy Efficiency Lessons” initiative, teachers have been trained and methodological materials have been developed and approved by the Ukrainian Institute of Education Development. The manuals for grades 4–11 include practical tips, sample lessons, and extracurricular activities that will help students effectively grasp the topic.
According to the minister, understanding the principles of energy efficiency is essential for modern individuals, especially during wartime, when Ukraine’s energy infrastructure remains vulnerable to attacks. The topic will be taught within a broader educational framework aimed at fostering environmental awareness and responsible resource use.
