Ukraine is launching the project "Medical Education for Heroes", which offers free professional training for 20 veteran medics. Participants will have the opportunity to choose a medical specialization according to their needs and experience. This initiative is being implemented by the Dobrobut medical network with the support of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and Veteran Hub, with media partnership from "Ukrainska Pravda. Life". Its aim is to integrate veteran medics into the professional community, ensure access to high-quality professional knowledge, and utilize their military experience to strengthen the healthcare system. The project also seeks to support veterans in their reintegration into civilian medical life.
The training will be conducted offline in central Kyiv at the private institution "Dobrobut Academy" or online, and will last from 1 to 4 months, depending on the chosen specialization. The program covers areas for doctors, nurses, and medical assistants, including healthcare management, dietetics, allergology, oncological surgery, and other specializations.
According to Oleksandra Mashkevych, Chief Medical Officer at Dobrobut, the project expresses gratitude to veterans for their service and provides real support to those who defended Ukraine.
To participate in the project, applicants must submit an application on the Dobrobut website by August 15. An expert commission will select 20 participants based on several criteria, including medical education, proof of veteran status, motivation, and professional achievements before military service.
Training will begin between September and November, depending on the chosen specialization.
