The Government of Ukraine is launching an experimental "zero course" — a preparatory program aimed at improving the quality of applicants' preparation for the National Multisubject Test (NMT).
The "winter admission" mechanism approved by the Cabinet of Ministers involves completing an intensive 3–6-month training course before the main admission campaign.
Universities will offer courses in Ukrainian language, mathematics, history of Ukraine, and one elective discipline (foreign language, natural sciences, or literature). Each module consists of 90 hours of classes, which can be taken in person or remotely.
The program aims to compensate for educational losses. Residents of temporarily occupied territories, military personnel, and veterans will receive financial support (grants, scholarships, and accommodation payments).
Program participants will be able to receive up to 15 additional points added to their competitive score upon admission to the first year at the university where the preparation took place, providing them with a significant advantage.
