This interdisciplinary course, implemented at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University under the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module program, aims to provide both practical and theoretical insights into business models and their digital transformations for sustainable development. The course is designed to deepen understanding of sustainable business models that are environmentally friendly, technically appropriate, economically viable, and socially acceptable, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).​

Course Objectives:
  • Understand the concept of sustainable development and the value of natural capital.​
  • Gain knowledge of the European Union's priorities in achieving the SDGs by 2030 through designing sustainable business models.​
  • Develop skills in creating business models that are environmentally, socially, and financially sustainable.​
  • Identify five types of sustainable business models: circular economy, lean manufacturing, sharing economy, social entrepreneurship, and e-business, and analyze best practices of their implementation in the EU and Ukraine.​
  • Utilize digital transformation opportunities by researching and analyzing local and global market trends to generate new sustainable business ideas across various industries.​
  • Master tools to stimulate innovative and investment activities for enterprises aiming to implement sustainable business practices, based on current examples and best practices.​

Speaker: Oleh Yaroshenko — Member of the Scientific and Technical Council at the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine | Expert in Renewable Fuels and Green Transformation

Oleh is a recognized expert in renewable energy and sustainable transition. As a member of the Scientific and Technical Council at Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy, he contributes to shaping national policy and advancing the green economy.
